My inspiration for this project came from me thinking about how some shoe designs only look appealing when they are worn on the foot. In order to combat this in a retail setting, I designed a shoe display that presents the shoe in a way that closer resembles how they would look on foot.
Designing in Fusion360 with realistic dimensions was a fun challenge that allowed me to gain a better understanding for how fit into space. I spent lots of time measuring furniture in my house so that I had a realistic understanding of how big the shoe display should be.
Putting my models into finished renders allowed me to see my design in a completely different light. It helped me see all the different things I could add to bring it to the next level. If I had more time to work on this in class, I would’ve gone back into the AutoCAD phase so that I could add things such as more rounded edges or additional geometric components so the seating area felt more welcoming.
