While traveling in Japan I became obsessed with canned coffee but I was disappointed when I got home because I realized that the only place you can get good canned is at asian food stores. Inspired by this, I decided to design my own canned coffee for the American market. Using tools such as Illustrator, inDesign, and Adobe Dimensionn I designed and rendered my own coffee can.
Much of my inspiration for this project came from the most popular coffee brand in Japan, BOSS. BOSS coffee’s brand identity is very sleek and professional. Their favorite celebrity to use for advertisement is Tommy Lee Jones, which gives their brand a very rough and tumble feeling.
I wanted to make sure my brand had the same energy, a design that would look good in any CEOs hand. I choose Head Honcho as my brand name, to pay homage to my Japanese inspiration, since the term has Japanese origins.
